Initiated by the Coordination Center as part of the Ethnocultural Adaptation School “We in Russia,” foreign students were introduced to a traditional feast. They learned about the main etiquette rules and their significance, as well as about prayers.
“We tried to describe the rules and requirements of the Ossetian feast: the sacred meaning of the three pies, table setting, guest seating arrangements, types of toasts and the order of their pronouncement, behavior rules during the Ossetian feast, and much more,” explains Coordination Center specialist Yana Dryaeva.
One of the most interesting and significant aspects of Ossetian traditions is the Ossetian feast etiquette, rooted in centuries of history, revealing the character and inner world of this ancient people.
