The final stage of the Federal Olympiad for schoolchildren in native languages and literatures of the peoples of Russia took place at North Ossetian State University, with 164 students participating.

After registering, the schoolchildren were welcomed by the university rector Alan Ogoev, the head of the department of national education and language policy of the Ministry of Education of North Ossetia Irina Nakusova, and the dean of the Ossetian Philology Faculty Elmira Gutieva. Students from the Ossetian Philology Faculty recited poems in their native language and received a full hall of applause.

“I am very pleased to welcome you to the walls of North Ossetian State University. It’s nice to see such wonderful youth in our university. I hope that similar events to identify talented young people will be held more often here. I wish you success, all the best. We look forward to seeing you at North Ossetian State University as students,” Ogoev said, addressing the participants.

The Olympiad is held to increase youth motivation to study native languages, as well as to learn from the experience of regional and university practices in supporting linguistic diversity in Russia.
