In 2022 the first specialists in Oriental and African Studies will graduate from North Ossetia State University with joint NOSU and Allameh Tabataba’i University degrees.

Relations between the people of North Ossetia and the Islamic Republic of Iran have ancient and deep historic roots. Today we need to not only study the past but also determine the direction of development for the creation of mutually advantageous and promising cooperation strategies not only in an academic and educational but also in an economic sense,” NOSU’s Rector Alan Ogoyev, noted.

Close cooperation between the two tertiary institutions started in 2016 when the respective rectors, Alan Ogoyev and Hussein Salimi, signed an agreement of cooperation. Teheran university thoroughly studied North Ossetia State University’s ability to organize the education process and academic research program. According to their Iranian colleagues NOSU is a worthy and qualified partner.

In 2017 North Ossetia held an International Academic and Workshop Conference at NOSU. The theme of the conference was Iran and the North Caucasus: History and the Objectives of Cooperation. Within the framework of the event organized by the university, the partnerships signed an agreement to mutually develop the Iran in the Contemporary World Masters Degree program.

The international conference at Allameh Tabataba’i University focused on two main themes: cultural ties and diplomatic relations between Iran and Russia.
