Increasing the quota for foreign students will help the development of Russian education exports. This was stated by the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova at an expanded meeting of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and relations with compatriots.

“We are primarily interested in returning foreigners who have studied in Russia to their countries in order to form a circle of friends of Russia in these countries,” the head of Rossotrudnichestvo noticed.

According to E.V. Mitrofanova, it is necessary to develop the cooperation of Russian universities with business, to develop practice-oriented programs that provide the most talented graduates of these universities with the opportunity to get a job in Russian companies that have business projects abroad.

One of the important factors in popularizing Russian education among foreigners was called to work with leading universities, able to provide a certain standard of education quality and successfully competing in the global educational community with leading foreign universities.

Eleonora Mitrofanova offered to use the opportunities of large-scale world sporting events for the development of the international sports movement at the university level, “which will give impulse to the new inter-university horizontal ties”.

The head of Rossotrudnichestvo in her speech touched upon the issues of interaction with foreign graduates of Russian universities. “Building up systematic and regular work with graduates from the university community will lay a long-term solid foundation for increasing the influence of Russian universities abroad,” stressed E. Mitrofanova.
